A First Step Toward Sane Wolf Management
For the better part of a decade, Safari Club International has struggled with the delisting of gray wolves in the west. SCI has engaged in multiple lawsuits to defend the U.S. Fish and Wildlife's varied attempts to delist wolves and has spent innumerable hours lobbying Congress to get recovered gray wolf populations delisted. These thriving populations are at least five times larger than the size and distribution goals that FWS experts long ago deemed necessary to achieve recovery. These large wolf populations have overwhelmed their prey in areas of the Northern Rocky Mountains and have decimated moose, elk and mule deer populations.
